Forum UK is a lively network for outstanding women of diverse achievements and interests. It offers unique behind-the-scenes access to special events, cutting-edge seminars, and opportunities for exchanging ideas and experiences with stimulating friends.
The Forum UK network believes in the benefits of collaboration, communication and support and provides the opportunity for women leaders to meet their peers in non-competitive environments where relationships can form and grow, and support is given and received.
Through the influence of individual members, Forum UK seeks to open doors, raise awareness of important issues and create role models for the leaders of the future. Forum UK does not engage in collective lobbying nor does it allows its members to use its database for commercial or personal purposes. Our Blog section, however, now allows members to communicate about issues and projects in which they are personally engaged.
Membership of Forum UK is by invitation only. Prospective members are nominated by existing members. Invitation for membership is extended to those women who have already achieved success in their chosen fields and who are willing and able to expand our network by supporting women in their leadership role. Because membership is encouraged from diverse areas of expertise we offer an unrivalled breadth of views and experience.
The Forum UK programme is our most important platform for promoting women’s leadership and for enriching each other’s lives through sharing knowledge, ideas and intellectual capital. Our programme is the hub of all our activity and the key to providing and maintaining our sense of community.
The Programme Committee is a small group of between 5 and 6 members of Forum UK who are tasked with identifying, organising and arranging future events for the 12 month rolling calendar. The Programme Committee is currently chaired by Liz Coffey who is also a member of the Forum UK Board. The ongoing challenge is to develop a vibrant programme building on the strengths of previous years but bringing fresh thinking to meet the needs of the current membership and appeal to our new members.
The Programme incorporates the core categories: breakfasts; behind the scenes tours; briefings; dine-arounds; special interest groups and the annual events: AGM; Jean Denton lecture; Summer Cocktail party; Christmas breakfast. In addition we look to promote the international agenda and benefits of membership of IWF through participation in IWF programmes. Recent key initiatives for Forum UK have been the ’Making Leadership Connections’, which is a cross-generational evening of networking and dialogue, Women on Boards series of Workshops hosted by Linklaters and a series on Ethical Leadership.
